DO YOU KNOW ?

Abalone Cape is named after the South African abalone, mostly known locally as perlemoen (from the Dutch meaning ‘mother-of-pearl’), which is endemic to the shores of South Africa.

A GREAT "TERROIR" ....

In South Africa, our wine partners are focused on identifying and selecting sites best suited to particular grape varieties. In addition, new vines which are particularly well adapted to the local soil and climatic conditions are being selected.

.

AND A GREAT "CLIMATE" TOO !

The Cape winegrowing areas, situated in the narrow viticultural zone of the southern hemisphere, mainly have a Mediterranean climate and the mountain slopes and valleys form the ideal habitat for the wine grape Vitis vinifera, the products of which have given pleasure to man for many centuries. Long, sun-drenched summers and mild, wet winters contribute to the ideal conditions for viticulture at the Cape.
